Getting bikes ready for Feb. 21-23 campout

For those going to the Reveille Peak Campout: Bring your bike to the Tuesday meeting on Feb. 11 for a safety inspection on the bike. Mr. Hvizdos will be there early if you’d like to get your bike checked before the meeting.

Updated Policies and Procedures Manual

At our Committee meeting this week, the Committee approved a few changes to our Troop Policies & Procedures document. The revised copy is attached for your reference. This document is also posted to our website (troop280.org). The following changes were made:

1. Our financial assistance policy has been updated to allow for consideration of assistance for more than just summer camp or the $50 maximum for dues that were outlined in the previous policy. All requests still require an application to be submitted, which will be reviewed by the Financial Assistance Committee (Committee Chair, Scout Master, and Treasurer) . See Appendix A of the policy for more details.

2. A financial aid fund was also created. The Troop has set aside $500 for this fund. Donations are also welcome at any time by anyone willing to support this fund.

3. To recognize and encourage our adult leaders to pursue training to support the scouting program, the Troop already has a policy to partially offset certain training class fees. CPR was added to the list of applicable classes.

If anyone has any questions about these updates, or anything else I can help with, please do not hesitate to reach out to me.

Have a great weekend.

Heather
Troop 280 Committee Chair
